2021-22 Iqaluit Club Speed Skating Season

We're "skating fast, and turning left!" ~ our speed skaters are always on the move!  Check out what's up with the NSSA and our local Clubs.

Registration is Open!

Thank you to our team, GN Sport and Rec, Speed Skate Canada and or skaters and parents as we took the time to prepare our Return at Play protocol and plan.  We are ready to hit the ice again!

*Our new online registration portal is ready! Please visit www.icereg.ca and follow the directions.* All registration fees, equipment rental fees and safety equipment purchases can be made via our online store on the IceReg portal https://icereg.ca/#!/events/iqaluit-speed-skating-club-20212022/store

NEW SKATERS:
If your child is aged 4* to 17 years of age and would like to try the fast and fun sport of speed skating, please register them at www.icereg.ca and follow the directions. *4yo+ must be able to skate w/out help, in any type of skates. If you require assistance or have a general question, please contact us at speedskatingnu@gmail.com

RETURNING SKATERS:
We distributed the appropriate Advanced, Developmental, Learn to Speed Skate and Volunteer returning members registration information via email including a unique registration code. If you require assistance or have a general question, please contact us at speedskatingnu@gmail.com

NSSA main communication tool is its Facebook page. Please FOLLOW & LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE www.facebook.com/nunavutspeedskatingassociation for information regarding daily updates, next sharpening clinic date, weather cancellations, smiling skaters pictures and more! 


Schedule for the 2021-22 season, all practices for ISSC will be held at AWG arena:

*Please always come 30 mins prior to your ice time to help with mats and get ready
 
MONDAYS
Advanced: 5 to 6PM
Development (and Advanced combined): 6 to 7PM
 
THURSDAYS
Advanced and Development (combined): 5 to 6PM
Learn-to-speed-skate/PIN program: 6 to 7PM
 
SATURDAYS
Advanced: 8 to 9AM
Development (and Advanced combined): 9 to 10AM
Learn-to-speed-skate/PIN program: 10 to 11AM

Skating Levels

Learn-to-Speed Skate Level / PIN program: 4yo+ must be able to skate w/out help, in any type of skates.
Developmental Level: Must have speed skated before, must be 10yo and up.
Advanced Level: Must have speed skated before, must be 12yo and up. (AWG age eligible: Born before June 30, 2011).
